Plenty of room in the two bedroom, and there's not much of a bug problem on the third floor. Maintenance seems to pay attention to requests in a reasonable amount of time.
At night lots of non-residents gather at the basketball court and play loudly long into the night. People also hang out in the parking lots next to their cars late at night making the area feel unsafe.
Recently also there have been changes in the management. The pet fee a year ago was only $250 and they have raised it to $500. Instead of them making more money this way I've just noticed lots of residents with dogs in their apartments without a pet permit sticker. Bad decision on management's part.
They seem to at least be trying to control the amount of non-residents using the facilities though because they now require a tag to get into the pool area. A little annoying but they had good intentions.

I lived at Avalon for 3 years. The first year was pleasant for an apartment. The management changed the next year and everything went down hill from there. They have a serious roach infestation problem. They only spray on the outside unless you request it and I seriously think they were spraying attractant. Our apartment was right next to the car wash which seems to be a nice utility for tenants until people start washing their cars at 3am and of course listening to their loud music. We called several times and never got our smoke alarm repaired. Oh and if you want an apartment where you feel safe to walk outside...I wouldn't recommend it. Although it may seem like a nice apartment, just wait till you meet the tenants! Enjoy your apartment shopping but again...not my first choice!
P.S. The rent for us was $729 bc we signed a 9 months. Avalon would not allow us to get the 2009 discounted rate although we had been a well paying tenant for over 2 years.
